If you've logged into Coachfinder recently, you may have noticed something new: identity verification now runs through Didit , our dedicated KYC (Know Your Customer) partner. This update is part of our ongoing commitment to building a safer, more trustworthy platform for every coach and every client who uses Coachfinder.
Here's what's changed, why we made the switch, and what it means for you.
Why We Made the Switch
Coachfinder exists to connect real coaches with real clients — but that only works if both sides can trust who they're dealing with. Until now, verifying a coach's identity meant manually reviewing uploaded ID documents and proof of address, a process that took time and relied entirely on our admin team's judgement.
Didit changes that. It's a dedicated identity verification provider that checks a government ID document, runs a live selfie and liveness check (to confirm the person completing verification is a real, present human — not a photo or a deepfake), and returns a result automatically, usually within minutes rather than days.
That means coaches get verified faster, and clients get a stronger, independently-confirmed guarantee that the person behind a coach profile is exactly who they say they are.
Two Checks, Not One
We've also used this move to make our verification model clearer. Every coach on Coachfinder now goes through two distinct checks:
KYC Verification — Didit. This confirms identity: that a coach is a real, live person, matching a valid ID document. It's automated, instant in most cases, and handled entirely by Didit.
Professional Verification — Coachfinder Admin. This confirms coaching credentials: our own team reviews every submitted certificate and qualification before a coach is approved to appear publicly on the platform.
Put simply: Didit proves identity. Coachfinder proves coaching credentials. A coach only goes live on the platform once both checks are complete — so every verified badge you see on Coachfinder now reflects a real identity check and a real credentials review, not just a self-reported claim.
How It Works
Becoming a Verified Coach on Coachfinder now follows five simple steps:
- Bhalisa — create your Coachfinder account and complete your profile.
- Verify your ID with Didit — a quick identity check: an ID document, a selfie, and a liveness check, completed securely inside Didit without ever leaving the Coachfinder site.
- Upload your sports certificate — your coaching certification and any additional qualifications for the sport(s) you coach.
- Admin review — our team reviews your certificate and confirms your coaching credentials.
- Get verified — once both checks are complete, you'll receive your Coachfinder Verified Coach badge.
If for any reason the automatic Didit check can't be completed, a manual review option is always available — nobody is locked out of becoming verified just because the automated path doesn't work for their situation.
What This Means for Clients
If you're booking a coach through Coachfinder, this update is entirely in your favour. A "Verified Coach" badge now means something more concrete than ever: a real, independently-confirmed identity, plus a coaching qualification our team has personally checked against the issuing institution.
What This Means for Coaches
If you're a coach on the platform — or thinking about joining — the process to get verified is now faster and more straightforward. Most identity checks complete in minutes. From there, it's just a matter of our admin team reviewing your certificate, and you're ready to start coaching clients with full verified status.
Building a Safer, Stronger Sports Community
This update reflects what Coachfinder has always been about: making it easy to find — and trust — the right coach. By pairing an automated identity check with a real human review of every coaching credential, we're raising the bar on what "verified" actually means, for every coach and every client on the platform.
